Here are some things to consider when looking for a therapist:

Location- Is the therapist located within an acceptable distance for you?

Hours- Are the therapist's hours convenient for you?

Affordability- Is the therapists fee appropriate for your budget? Keep in mind insurance policies only cover part of the fee and often for only a limited number of sessions.

Orientation- Does the therapist practice in a way the helps you? Does the therapist provide a comfortable, emotionally safe environment?

All of these are important pieces when considering  a therapist, but psychotherapy is a highly personal and dynamic relationship, it is crucial that you find someone who resonates well with you and with whom you are comfortable

It can be worth traveling a distance or rearranging your schedule, or even getting creative in order to be able to afford the cost of a therapist with whom you feel comfortable. We at Stuart L. Palmer and Associates hope you will find such a healing relationship here.
